In 1996, Dr. Hala Abd El Khalik gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, upon waking up from her surgery she found the hospital and various members from the community giving her tips and providing her with all the information she needs now that she has given birth to a child with down syndrome, a few months later when she and her new born baby came back to Egypt, she was startled by how there was almost no one to help her.
That’s when she vowed on becoming the change she wanted to see in the community and along with our board of trustees they founded Wayana.
